About the Event
CAMH, the John Howard Society of Ontario, and Mental Health Partners invite you to participate in a Cross-Sectoral Think Tank on Housing, Mental Health, and Justice, taking place on February XX, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Arrell Family Foundation Auditorium at CAMH.
Building on the critical dialogue sparked by the Soleiman Faqiri Inquest Panel Discussion last April—which highlighted the urgent need for systemic change at the intersection of mental health and justice—this session will bring together leaders from government, housing, justice, community, and hospital sectors to:
Showcase models and approaches that are working across Ontario and beyond to support persons who come into contact with the law due to symptoms of their mental illness
Identify actionable solutions that bridge housing, mental health, and justice needs
Foster collaboration across sectors to address systemic gaps
Forensic mental health care will also be a key focus, in particular care pathways between hospitals,…
