Tyler Potvin's life took a positive turn after years of struggling with substance use, mental health challenges, and encounters with the justice system. Through Providence Care's Forensic Community Service (At-Risk) program, he found the support and resources needed to rebuild his life.

The program, designed for individuals with serious mental illness who have been found criminally responsible for their actions, provides medication, counselling, and addiction rehabilitation. Dr. Tariq Hassan, Tyler's psychiatrist, emphasizes the double stigma these individuals face and the program's success in reducing reoffending and rehospitalization.
Inspired by the birth of his son, Tyler committed to his recovery journey. With proper medication and the program's support, he experienced a profound shift in his well-being, discovering a sense of functionality and stability he had never known.
Now, Tyler thrives in a life filled with purpose. He maintains employment, prioritizes his physical health, pursues his passion for music, and volunteers with at-risk youth, aiming to guide them towards healthier paths. Tyler's story exemplifies the transformative power of dedicated support, personal determination, and a commitment to becoming a better version of oneself.
