MHP's 2026 Provincial Pre-Budget Submission

Mental Health Partners’ 2026 provincial pre‑budget submission calls for targeted investments to reduce pressures related to Alternate Level of Care, supportive housing and dual diagnosis. This year’s recommendations focus on expanding supportive housing for people with mental illness and substance use disorders, strengthening hospital transitions into the community and securing sustained funding for collaborative, community‑based care.

The submission highlights practical, cross‑ministry solutions that will improve patient outcomes and help restore system capacity. It also highlights successful partnerships already demonstrating how integrated clinical care, supportive housing, and community services can reduce pressures and deliver better results.

MHP remains committed to building an equitable, connected system where people with complex mental health and substance use needs receive timely, appropriate care. Budget 2026 is a critical opportunity to scale what works and strengthen Ontario’s mental health system for the future.
